UNDERWATER LOUDSPEAKERS

Mango Electronics has stocked the world's finest underwater lighting for over 15 years, specialising in types for use in swimming pools of all types. We supply both trade and public and are known for our in depth knowledge of niche and surface mount incandescent or LED based types for all forms of pool construction.
This business has been an electronic design consultancy for 25 years, with an in depth experience of high power amplifier and test equipment design; we can supply conventional low voltage or mains lights for all applications and environments, including fibre-optic kits for saunas, steam rooms and other domestic or commercial uses, (see sauna-steam.co.uk for details).

Underwater sound is often required in domestic and commercial pools; aquarobics clubs for example normally dangle a special speaker into the water, which is OK for temporary use but unsatisfactory for permanent installations in domestic and commercial pools.
The speakers are often simply placed in a standard lighting niche, which is very unsatisfactory, so we have developed a complete, easy to install kit which includes a very high acoustic output transducer which is properly and solidly mounted on an acoustic horn to improve midrange output and sound fidelity. Visually, this closely matches the standard PAR56 and LED niche lights in size and appearance and is fitted in a similar way.
As with the lights, the regulations require an isolation transformer be inserted between the driving power amplifier and each underwater transducer. We found that the ones available are unsatisfactory due to lack of bass output and low power handling capability, so have designed our own to match the speaker's high performance, which features an extended bass output over 20 dB higher than all it's competitors below 100Hz, the highest output of 105 dB for 1w input at 1 KHz and a higher power rating of 50w/30w RMS at 8 Ohms loading. This audio transformer also provides an IP67 (temporarily submersible) environmental rating, IP68 rated cable glands and a speaker protection fuse inside the terminal chamber.

To complete the wellness factor, we have our own omnidirectional Hi-fi speakers, actually designed for use around a swimming pool and with partying especially in mind, using custom made versions of high power studio drivers. These have been in use in extreme environments for over 20 years now and have even survived Typhoons in the Caribbean at an outdoor island pool only 50 m from the beach and in Venezuela and Florida without problems.
